Frequently Asked Questions for Complex Care

1. How much will the care in my home service cost?

Our prices are very competitive, with no minimum amounts or call-out rates. You only pay for what you need. Before agreeing a service with you, we will send you a detailed breakdown of the services to be provided and the price we will charge

2. What does the care in my home service include?

Our services are tailored to your individual needs. We offer a full range of personal care, including help with washing, dressing and medication, as well as domestic help, such as cleaning and light housework. Our carers will also help you with shopping and escorting you to appointments. You tell us what you need and we will discuss with you how we can meet those needs.

3. Will the same person provide care in my home every week?

We at Ark aim to match you with a carer who best meets your needs. You may have more than one carer depending on your needs. However, we will discuss this with you when we plan your care. If for any reason your carer needs to be changed, we will discuss this with you in advance and introduce your new carer's details.

4. What training have the people providing care in my home received?

All our carers receive a full induction to ensure they are ready and able to deliver care services. They also receive ongoing training, including National Vocational Qualifications, as well as specialised training. All of this is supported by our own Ark training centre.

5. How long do I have to use the care in your home services?

There is no minimum amount of service or length of time you must use our services. You stay in control of what you want and when you want it.

6. How will I know I can trust the person providing care in my home?

All of our care workers are fully vetted. This means they have been interviewed by us, had their references checked and had a Criminal Records Bureau check. Once working for us, they receive regular supervision and training. Most importantly, we will ask you what you think of your care workers, to ensure we maintain your happiness at all times.

7. Will the person providing care in my home come at a time that is convenient for me?

Before you commit to using our care service, we will discuss how we can best meet your needs. This will include arranging your carer's visiting times to fit in with your home life.

8. How can I check that what you say about care in the home is accurate?
All our care in your home branches are registered with care industry regulator the Care Quality Commission, which can provide you with reports on our branches. We would be happy to send you these if you contact us. We are also contracted with many local authorities.
